Restoration of Bauhaus villa garden, phase II
Project and location
Bauhaus villa with protected rock formations, Pasarét neighborhood, Budapest
Description
This is the continuation of a project we started in 2007, restoring a natural garden in a 1930s villa.
In 2010 the owners purchased the other side of the house, which included an approximately 250 square meter garden plot. Unlike the other side of the house, it doesn't have natural wildflower cover or rock formations, but it does have some spectacular mature trees, including a black walnut. We sought to create a lush, varied border of ornamental grasses, perennials and shrubs that would make this area of the garden feel more intimate and protected.
See the below concept for details.

We are also designing a beautiful fence for the site with subtle stainless-steel details to evoke the streamlined mood of Bauhaus architecture.
