Biedermann Palace, Szentegát

Biedermann Palace, Szentegát, Hungary
What we did
The 19th century palace, located in a village near the Croatian border, was recently purchased by investors seeking to turn it into a hotel and spa. They also want to create a model of sustainability and a new community gathering place for local residents and commissioned a proposal for how to elegantly integrate various aspects into the site: nature protection, sustainable tourism, historic preservation, health and wellness, local farm-to-table agriculture, and community gardening.

For our preliminary proposal, we suggested a spiral herb garden, a natural habitat garden and a beautiful geometrically-shaped community garden for growing vegetables. We also proposed a complex education and public outreach program to create a strong relationship between the community and the garden.
